Welcome to the August edition of the Insurance Institute of Southampton newsletter. We have details of our forthcoming programme, news of the annual dinner plus another opportunity to have your say on social events.

We are delighted to launch our autumn term at the Hampshire Rose Bowl on the 16th September 2009. From noon in the Richards Suite we will supply the usual complimentary buffet followed by a session "How to make the most of your money" by Chris May, FSA. Chris spent a number of years with one of the UK's major banks and with Christmas just a few months away can you afford to miss this one? Anyone interested in becoming an office representative for their local CII should keep the early evening of Wednesday 30 September free. Full details of this free event will follow in a separate mail, but please contact Institute President Hana Fincher by emailing hanacii@hotmail.co.uk to register your interest or call her on 075 1502 0897 to learn more.
If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey to give us your preferences for sports and social events in the region. Survey questions include what types of events you would be happy to support and your preferred locations. You will also have the chance to submit any comments about previous or future events. Feel free to pass the survey link on to any non-members in your company or department as CII sports and social events are always open to members, non-members, friends and family.

Tickets are now on sale for the highlight of the social calendar, the CII Annual Dinner. Tickets are priced at £55 each and tables are available for groups of 10 with a limited number of tables that will accommodate 12 guests. A first class speaker in Dr Kevin Jones will entertain us and table magicians will perform during the meal.
